Canberra Youth Gathering - A reflection by Oliver Peppermint

The Canberra Youth Gathering was graciously hosted by Gungahlin Uniting Church on Saturday the 2nd of May. Young people from all over the region attended including Molongolo, Gungahlin, North Belconnen, Kippax, Yarralumla, St. Margaret's and Wesley Uniting Churches.

There were three exciting workshops, with young people choosing between puppetry, visual art and music.

After workshops, there was food and games. Active team games happened in the back of the church, whilst in the foyer, there were plenty of board games, there was something for everyone!

Afternoon tea brought many nibbles.

During worship we explored the theme of the Good Shepherd and youth showed off their skills from the workshops and led many of the components.

We enjoyed a marvellous puppet show performed by young people, completely captivating the audience.

Visual art shared by youth to explain what prayers their art represented.

Fantastic musical worship led by young people that united us all in song.

After worship, with the help of the fantastic catering crew, we made delicious burgers and joined in conversation with each other.

We are so grateful to the many volunteers who helped make this wonderful event possible for the more than 60 people able to attend. We look forward to another Regional Worship Gathering in November!
